Fun party drinks
S'mores shots are a fun cocktail that doubles as a dessert! Toast some marshmallows and grab your favorite libation, and hot cocoa for the kids and as a mocktail option.
We love a chocolate vodka, peanut butter whiskey, or even a vegan Baileys Irish Cream.
Making these edible shot glasses is half the fun of this recipe!

How to make this recipe
S'mores shots are all about the accessories - edible shot glasses and toasted marshmallows.
The edible chocolate shot glasses are very easy to make, as you can see from the video. Melt your dark chocolate as you normally do (double boiler, over low heat in a saucepan, microwave), and spoon into the shot mold or transfer to a baggie and pipe it in.
The chocolate quickly cools to a temperature that easily allows handling in a baggie, and this is my preferred method simply because it is less messy.
If you don't want to make your own, you can use these kosher - vegan chocolate shot glasses. These are smaller, but still a great vehicle for a s'mores shot!
How to toast marshmallows indoors
S'mores shots require toasted marshmallows, yes?
When you don't have the cozy campfire or back yard fire pit to toast marshmallows, there are still a couple of ways you can achieve that deliciously gooey, crispy charred bite.
- One way to toast marshmallows indoors is to use a kitchen torch.
- We have a gas cooktop, so carefully toasting over an open fire is still our indoor option.
- We use a skewer to hold the marshmallow with each of these options.
Kid friendly recipe / non alcohol option
The fun in the s'mores shot is the edible shot glass, the whipped cream, and the toasted marshmallow. It is very easy to make this a kid friendly recipe and a non alcoholic drink.
Fill these chocolate shot glasses with hot cocoa, or make it more of a dessert and fill the whole glass with whipped cream!
