Why you'll love this easy snack recipe
If you love sweet and salty flavors, you will love these chocolate dipped corn chips. You will also love how quick and easy this recipe is. This is one of those last minute snacks you can make right before a party.
The salty crunch of a corn chip is dipped halfway into your favorite kind of chocolate - melted for a deliciously smooth coating that you top with sprinkles. The sprinkles are more for that glittery finish, these corn chip snacks taste just as good covered in only chocolate!
Do you like corn chips? You will love these Frito pie stuffed peppers.
How to make chocolate dipped corn chips
Making chocolate dipped corn chips is as easy as it sounds. You melt the chocolate, dip the chip halfway into the chocolate, place it on parchment to dry, and top with sprinkles before the chocolate sets.
My tips for easy dipping:
- Line your baking sheet or plate with parchment
- Use whatever chocolate you like best!
- Choose the larger size corn chips if you can find them, unless you prefer the skinny ones!
- Have the sprinkles ready before you start
- Use a spoon to remove excess dripping chocolate after dipping
How long do these chips last?
My rule for maximum flavor and freshness is to enjoy these chips within three days.
Store in a glass container with a tightly fitting lid.

The hus and I were JUST talking about Fritos yesterday. This is probably amazing -- such a fan of sweet and salty.

Party food! The boys would totally be all over this. We actually still don't have cable, but I feel like we may end up getting it fairly soon...

The Artist was the best movie I've seen this year. "Drive" was excellent too but I feel like it got snubbed at the oscars this year.
Totally unrelated question: did frito lay sponsor this post? I have a soft spot for fritos.
spabettie says
no sponsor here, I just happen to like a Frito now and then, and I also like using trademark symbols 😉
I have not seen The Artist yet, but look forward to it. I want Hugo to win a lot, and George Clooney also...

THIS must be what you alluded to in your comment on my doritos brownies post! LOVE this!
spabettie says
YEEEEESSSSS... we could have little baggies of these at the front counter, yes? 😉
Liz (Little Bitty Bakes) says
HA! Not going to lie, I actually did envision these in brown paper bags with a little clear window to see the deliciousness inside 🙂
spabettie says

I love this!! You're never going to believe this but I've been wanting to make potato chip cookies for awhile...crushed chips baked into cookies. Then I saw Deb/Smitten do it and figured if I did it, it would be old hat. And then I saw another friend do Doritos Brownies. And have seen another couple girls do chocolate potato chips...and I LOVE that you used Fritos AND sprinkles. This has got to be my perfect pairing. YUM!!!
spabettie says
I haven't made potato chip cookies in ages - used to make them for ski team in college!
and Liz' Doritos brownies!! those sound REALLY good! 😀

I love chocolate covered potato chips... actually that was what I had planned, and when I was in the chip aisle (I am NEVER in that aisle!!) 😀 I saw the Fritos and thought... YUM
Aden Hailemariam says
In high school I had this obsession with eating Fritos and M&Ms together. I've stopped eating that exact combination but I totally get this post! I want to try something like this again!
spabettie says
so yeah, you get how good these are!! 🙂
Gina @ Running to the Kitchen says
Ok, I'll confess that I think Fritos are the nastiest bagged "chip" there is. But you have me intrigued with the dark chocolate coating. Chocolate does make everything better so I'd be willing to give these a try! 😉
spabettie says
you might like them this way? go to a deli type place that sells the small bags... and get one chocolate bar... 🙂
Molly says
Nothing like some yummy salty and sweet!
spabettie says
