Sweet and Spicy Cashews - a tasty blend of sweet and savory for a warm snack or last minute party food - pop these in the oven all holiday season!
One of my favorite flight snacks is the warm nuts. I am like a kid, bouncing in my seat as I see them coming around... and then I eat all the cashews out of mine, passing the rest to Jason. He often offers his, which still has an equal blend because he is a normal snacker.
Our wordless headphone wearing airplane communication is understood...
I have such an affinity for these warm nuts that among some, I am known for it. My friend Arman even made a recipe for me. Okay, for Rosemary. *sigh*
In the weeks ahead, we will be hosting and attending holiday parties. While I cannot really bring these to some of the events we are invited to - at least not warm - I will offerΒ them at the parties we host. Show up early - I cannot guarantee there will be warm cashews in my presence. But the house will smell good...

I have so many jokes about warm nuts... but I'll just say these looks like some tasty nuts. I have an affinity for the airline nuts too, actually.

I can always count on you to add some "new to me" twist to simple recipes Kristina. I'm so going to be seeking out that spice now.

ah, thanks Alisa - happy I can share new things! I have been using that mainly for kimchi and my kimchi sauce... SO good!
jacquie2010 says
YUM-MY!! So, are you actually roasting the cashews? I can never seem to get a good roast, like they start to burn.
Kristina Sloggett says
hi Jacquie - I don't think mine are in there long enough to actually roast? I have baked them in the oven DRY, then added the spices / flavoring AFTER too... both methods work, but the pre seasoned nuts go in for a shorter amount of time. if you're wanting to avoid the burn, maybe roast them dry first? or you could start off with an already roasted nut, if you are looking for the flavor, then warming them!
allie @ Through Her Looking Glass says
