Until then, I buy the basil plants in the produce section. They don’t last very long, so I bought one and used the whole thing that afternoon.
basil pesto pasta with butternut and sage
2 servings pasta (gluten free spaghetti)
basil pesto (recipe follows)
1/3 butternut squash
3-5 sage leaves
Cube squash. Brush squash and sage leaves with olive oil, roast at 375 for 25-30 minutes. Meanwhile, prepare pasta as directed. Heat skillet and add pesto; remove butternut squash and sage from oven and add to pesto. Drain cooked pasta and toss with pesto mixture and serve.
1/2 cup (packed) fresh basil leaves
1 clove garlic, minced
12-15 raw cashews
2 tablespoons olive oil
Pulse cashews in food processor, add garlic and olive oil and continue blending. Add basil and process until smooth.
