[spabettie kitchen, before]
Just over a year ago we bought our new house. I made cookies to match. We are getting settled, I am decorating slowly, and planning a major kitchen reno. I started thinking about the kitchen after we moved in, and have literally been too busy to make a move.
This turned out to be a good thing – my ideas and tastes have changed over the last several months, not only for the kitchen plans but with the paint, design and colors in finishing both the kitchen and adjoining family room.
While I have some specific ideas and a rough sketch drawn up, I am just beginning to think about actual fixtures and appliances. I have started research on refrigerators, cook tops, and other appliances (those two are among the most exciting, though).
Another important aspect is the sink, which I have very specific ideas about, and the faucet to go with it. I was invited by Delta to explore kitchen designs using their interactive digital tools and choose a faucet to install in my new kitchen. The faucets I get to choose from include the Touch2O Technology, the faucets that are activated by a tap to start or stop water.
Delta guides you through a series of questions to find your design and kitchen styles – a fun and quick process that was accurate in matching my style, for sure!
Using these interactive tools, I found my tastes are more traditional – I chose The Cassidy in Arctic Stainless.
I already wear a blue-tooth device in the kitchen because my hands are always busy or covered in food; it only makes sense that I have a magical faucet that senses a touch and responds with water. The faucet remains clean and free from whatever I need to wash from my hands, I save water with the easy turn on/off (and with the auto shut off after several minutes), and the faucet itself is sleek and fun.
The downside? According to Delta, “once you get used to a Touch2O® faucet, you’ll find yourself tapping non-Touch2O® faucets and wondering why nothing happens. People will stare.” This already happens to me in public restrooms – sitting there waving my hands under a faucet before I see I have to turn a handle? People do stare.
