When I was in fifth grade, I had an awesome AP English class (well, probably an awesome teacher). We had segments where we would study the Consumer Reports magazines. The segment that left the biggest impression on a young spabettie? The hot dog articles. In Consumer Reports style, all brands of hot dogs were listed and rated. Ingredients studied in depth.
I never ate a hot dog again.
About once a year I crave a hot dog, usually during the summer. That craving happened the day we had people over and grilled jalapenos. I picked up some vegan ‘dogs’ I’ve been wanting to try.
Have you had these!? Amazing! I’m not a huge fan of faux meat, but every now and then, okay. They serve a purpose. A craving. These are SO flavorful, and Jason even liked them. They held up on the grill too.
Super easy – we grilled the dogs and gluten free baguette, served with my favorite – butter lettuce. Yeah. I know, field roast = gluten, so why the gluten free bun? I don’t have to completely go ape, right? 😀
I would give these a high ranking in my consumer report.
hot dogs – yay or nay?
