It’s my third cookbook review of Mofo, and again, I am giving away a copy to a lucky reader!
I am also sharing with you a recipe from the book – for one of the best smoothies I have ever had. Really, Jason keeps asking for it, I keep making it. I mean, a candy bar smoothie?
Yes, it really tastes like a candy bar. Adding the protein is what we generally do, and this easily takes me through a busy morning.
This week I bring you Natalie Slater’s new book, Bake and Destroy – Good Food for Bad Vegans (or as the back cover states, “Vegan Recipes That’ll Punch Your Taste Buds in the Mouth”).
I have already made her Honky Tonk French Toast (I always have to try the French toast…), Game Day Dip (because… yeah, football), and the Chicago-style sandwich. All over the top tasty.
With beautiful photography and fun stories on every page, Natalie’s high energy cookbook is fun to just sit down and read.
Recipes I will be making: Fruit Punch Winkies (yes, a bright red fruit flavored snack cake), Mighty Migas (the first breakfast I veganized, I cannot wait to try another version), and the Indian Buffet Pizza. That just sounds incredible.
and this smoothie. This smoothie is now permanent in our standard breakfast rotation.

My favorite candy bar is the dark chocolate Peanut Chews by Goldenbergs. One of the few candy bars I could have as a milk allergic kid.
