It has been quite a long time since I have shared some Thoughts and Things. Like, two years. Eeep. It’s not like I haven’t had any thoughts. heh. I have plenty.
This peeler is perfect. In my recent search for a new peeler, I have been through several. This one is the Ikea 365+ series, it was $5, I figured I’d give it a try, and I love it. It is solid, comfortable, and has worked very well for several years. Next time I am at Ikea I want to buy them all and give them to everyone.
This was outrageously fun. Anderson is just as cool in person. Incredibly humble and an awesome storyteller. Andy is awesome, too!
I still make lunch for the docs and nurses that cared for my dad. One of the nurses is recently diagnosed celiac, so these these BLTA Sliders were for her, using the super soft BFree Soft White Rolls. Yes, I know I said it twice – but they really are soft. Nobody at the hospital guessed they were gluten free, and the newly gluten free nurse figured she couldn’t have one!
My mom is celiac / gluten free. My husband is too. While I love a fresh crusty baguette or even a puff pastry wonder, for the most part I am gluten free as well – it helps reduce my headaches and inflammation. I am still loving the BFree Bagels as well as the BFree Brown Seeded Sandwich Loaf. My mom loves the wraps and the sandwich loaves, and my husband likes uses the sandwich loaves for toast.
I am not paid to tell you this – if you are gluten free and can find these breads in your area, go get them. I think you’ll like them too. These breads are also egg free / vegan.
In case you missed it – I have a new cocktail recipe perfect for all of your Oscar party needs. (Are you watching today? Tell me about all the foods you are making!)
So many friends are freaking out over this. Did you know?
Earlier this week I made Somer’s Cheesy Cauliflower and Potato Bake from The Abundance Diet. Somer’s book is a favorite and one I am currently revisiting. (My original review of her book includes this fantastic No Bake Cookie Recipe.) Bonus – the next morning, this makes really great Breakfast Burritos with VeganEgg.
My very favorite song of all time ever ever is Hallelujah. I saw Leonard Cohen perform live and cried the whole time. I have a tattoo. I was just reminded of this version. I love it so much. I love New York, I love Sandler, I love New York.
I totally blew their minds with the Rice Paper Bacon in those BLTA Sliders…
